Wine not? Designing an Innovative Wine Experience for Restaurants
WineView approached us with a clear goal: to enhance the wine experiences that restaurants provide to their customers. As a digital platform, WineView aims to boost restaurant sales by offering customers an interactive and engaging wine selection process.
Our objective was to bring this vision to life by designing a user-friendly platform that allows restaurant customers to discover wine effortlessly and enjoyably. We focused on not only simplifying the selection process but also enhancing the dining experience through curated wine and food pairings.
In the end, we didn’t just create a digital platform; we empowered WineView with a dynamic tool for wine discovery and pairing. This platform positions WineView as a key partner for restaurants seeking to elevate their wine offerings and storytelling.
Problem Statement
Challenge:
First, we needed to organize and consolidate information to streamline the process. Our user research revealed that the sales team and artists had to navigate different modules to complete tasks, which was time-consuming and increased cognitive load, leading to errors. A key challenge was defining a clear visual hierarchy for information, along with regular calls and multiple iterations, to redesign the information architecture for a smoother and more efficient user experience.

Decluttering with a Marie Kondo Approach to User Experience
After thorough user research, we gathered essential data to enhance the customer experience. We designed a sleek, sophisticated interface tailored for high-end restaurants, ensuring elegance and intuition. Each design element was crafted to meet functional needs and resonate with the upscale dining environment WineView aims to enhance.

Understanding Order Flow, User Personas, and Behavior in the Existing System
We analyzed Signature Coins' existing systems to understand how sales and artist personas navigate through various modules to complete orders. By identifying pain points at each step of the user journey and probing key questions, we uncovered areas for improvement. This comprehensive approach provided valuable insights into the roles of salespeople and artists, guiding our design enhancements.

Project Timeline
Research & Planning
This initial phase is crucial for understanding the problem space, user needs, and market landscape. During this time, user research is conducted through methods like interviews, surveys, and competitive analysis.
